I have had start a blog on my to do list for close to a year now, so the fact that today marks my first post....well it’s not my proudest moment--- but I am here, I am committed and I am very excited to share my journey with you!
The past year and a half has been filled with more firsts than I would every advise a person to knowingly take on. What can I say, I enjoy taking the road less traveled....at least that’s what I keep telling myself. I married Joshua Wilson (my middle-school dreamboy and love of my life), packed up and moved half way across the world two months later, and then (just to keep up our competitive pace) decided to get our beloved 3 year old beauty, Kamryn Cora, a baby brother named Ray! Oh and did I mention this was all a million miles away from family, friends and a drive through Starbucks (more on that at a later date)! Yes, it has been and continues to be quite an adventure, with a learn at every turn. As well as the chance of a life time, and I wouldn’t trade it for all the riches in the world. Ha! You hear that optimism? Today must have been a “good” day. Truthfully though, this little exploit has allowed me to see and experience things that most people only dream of and for that I am grateful. I have had to fully submerge myself into a totally different culture and embrace a new way of life. It has also forced me to step outside of my comfort aka “happy” zone and grow as person. Because believe me when I say: a budding marriage, paired with an isolating foreign country, sweetened (debatable depending on the day) with two small children, all nicely sprinkled atop a young and slightly irrational mother......well, it can get pretty ugly, but what doesn’t kill you.....right?
I want to share this journey not only for my own personal documentary purposes, but also because I am a mother, a wife and a young woman with aspirations, and covering all those bases can be a daunting task. A double edged sword. A very rewarding and sometimes even cute sword, but a sharp one. My hope is that you can relate to the defeats and to the victories, and if at some point you get a good laugh out of either.....good deal. So I hope you enjoy my daily ramblings, questionable pearls of wisdom, random while in the shower epiphanies and of course the occasional rant. It happens. Oh and plenty of pictures:)
FACT: I really really do love laundry. Seriously.
